Prof. Josef Kreiner, von 1970 bis 1977 Vorstand des Instituts für Japanologie an der Universität Wien, hat den 4. NIHU Preis für Japanstudien erhalten. Die aktuellen und emeritierten Mitglieder der Japanologie Wien, sowie seine Kolleg*innen und ehemalige Student*innen gratulieren ganz herzlich!

The Result of the NIHU International Prize in Japanese Studies 2022 (Oct 17, 2022)

In January 2019, the NIHU International Prize in Japanese Studies was newly established, with the support of the Kuraray Foundation, with the aim to promote the development of Japanese studies and deepen the understanding of Japanese culture internationally. The prize will be awarded to researchers based overseas who have shown outstanding achievement in Japan-related scholarship in literature, language, history, ethnology, folklore studies, the environment and other fields related to the human culture studies and have made great contributions to the international development of Japanese studies.

We are pleased to announce that the winner of the NIHU International Prize in Japanese Studies 2022 have been decided.

2 The awards ceremony and commemorative lecture
Date: January 20, 2023
Time: 3:00 p.m.- 3:30 p.m. JST (award ceremony) / 3:40 p.m.- 4:40 p.m. JST (commemorative lecture)
Venue:     The Japan Academy (Nippon Gakushi-In) ※    Participation at the venue will be limited to those involved, and will be delivered via Zoom webinar. Details will be posted on the NIHU website in the future.
