Dionyssios Askitis graduated in Psychology at the University of Marburg (MSc), Germany and since 2019 is a PhD candidate at the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW)-funded interdisciplinary DOC-team on „Shrinking but Happy? The Impact of Social Capital on Subjective Well Being in Rural Japan“ at the Department of East Asian Studies of the University of Vienna. His research is centered around regional differences in well-being in Japan as well as the intersection of social and individual-level predictors of well-being, such as social capital and personality.
